iRISE Cascade Workshops Strengthen STEM Learning Across Ladakh

The iRISE Cascade Workshops in Kargil and Leh successfully brought together 257 dedicated teachers, creating meaningful spaces for hands-on learning, collaboration, and professional development.

In Kargil, 152 teachers participated across two batches, exploring experiential STEM learning through engaging activities, inquiry-based approaches, and reflective discussions. The workshops encouraged teachers to move beyond conventional teaching methods and design learning experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation among students.

The iRISE Leh Cascade Workshops also concluded successfully with 105 teachers participating across two batches:

  • Batch 1: 23–25 July — 63 teachers

  • Batch 2: 27–29 July — 42 teachers

Over six inspiring days in Leh, teachers engaged in hands-on STEM activities, inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and collaborative learning experiences. These sessions offered practical ideas and strategies to make science and mathematics classrooms more engaging, relevant, and meaningful for students.

Across both districts, teachers explored how simple materials, thoughtful questions, and active participation can bring STEM concepts alive. They exchanged ideas with peers, reflected on their classroom practices, and strengthened their capacity to create joyful, learner-centred learning environments.

A heartfelt thank you to all participating teachers and the local teams for their enthusiasm, dedication, and seamless coordination. Together, we are building a stronger culture of experiential, inquiry-driven, and joyful STEM learning across Ladakh.
