About TDS

The world of education is evolving rapidly. Modern educators need to be ready to help shape tomorrow's innovators and problem-solvers. Apart from learning technology and tools, students need to sharpen their skills in tackling complex problems, forming productive collaborations, and effectively communicating their thoughts and ideas in new ways.

The Teachers’ Development Strand of iRISE is intended to instil innovative teaching and learning strategies at the grassroots level by actively engaging schoolteachers and eventually students. The programme focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)-based training, which is a global effort to empower students and teachers to create, innovate, tinker, and turn their ideas into reality.

Objectives

  • Capacity building on activity- and inquiry-based learning for STEM of Science and Mathematics teachers
  • Encourage critical thinking and an experimental mindset in teachers and in turn students
  • Create a culture of innovation in the school ecosystem
  • Enhance the quality and number of quality entries to the DST 'INSPIRE Awards -MANAK'

We are striving to improve the learning experience at the grassroots level. This will be achieved by introducing experiential learning in the school classrooms which will eventually encourage critical thinking, creativity, scientific temper, and problem-solving among school children.
