Orientation Workshop on Intellectual Property and Knowledge Management

An orientation workshop on IP & KM was held on Sept 10, 2022 for STEM Ph.D. students under ECR

Intellectual property and knowledge management play crucial roles in the field of research. They are essential building blocks for academic and commercial success, particularly for scientists and researchers who rely on their intellectual capital to advance their research projects. Intellectual property rights provide legal protection and control over the use of their work, while knowledge management enables researchers to organize, share, and capitalize on their knowledge for long-term benefits. The total number of Early career researchers participated in the workshop where 65% were male and 35% were female.

Prof Gouri Gargate from IIT Kharagpur, Dr. Magesh Nandagopal, Principal Scientist and Head of the Technology Strategy Group at CSIR-NCL, Dr. Nitin Shukla-Tewari, Head of intellectual property group at CSIR-NCL, Dr. M.G Kulkarni, IP Consultant guided the students on various topics.
