The Teacher Development Strand (TDS) of the Inspiring India in Research Innovation and STEM Education (iRISE) programme is a collaborative effort between the Department of Science & Technology (DST), IISER Pune, the British Council, the Royal Society of Chemistry, Tata Technologies, and TATA Trusts. TDS is dedicated to training educators in implementing learner-centered pedagogy within their classrooms, with the aim of fostering a culture of creativity and innovation. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness about the Inspire-MANAK programme.

So far, the TDS initiative has successfully covered three states in India—Maharashtra, Bihar, and Uttarakhand—and is now gearing up for a series of Teachers' Development Workshops in Jharkhand. Today, a significant milestone was achieved with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC). The signing took place in the presence of IAS Mr. Aditya Ranjan, State Project Director, and Professor Sourabh Dube, Project Investigator of iRISE and a professor in the Department of Physics at IISER Pune. The coordination efforts were led by Dr. Avinav Kumar, State Project Officer at JEPC. This collaboration will officially commence with our Phase I workshop on August 29, 2024.
