The Refresher Workshop for Maharashtra Innovation Champions was successfully conducted at IISER Pune in two phases from September 19th to 21st and September 23rd to 25th, 2024. A total of 160 Innovation Champions participated in this intensive training program aimed at enhancing their teaching methodologies and equipping them with innovative strategies to implement in their respective districts.
The workshop provided a comprehensive platform to strengthen skills in inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and collaborative teaching methods. Participants engaged in hands-on activities across subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, gaining practical insights into incorporating activity-based learning in their classrooms. They were also introduced to new educational technologies such as Plickers for quick assessments, which can be integrated seamlessly into daily lesson plans.
Additionally, the workshop focused on preparing teachers for INSPIRE MANAK project submissions, where they learned to guide students in idea generation and project development. The event concluded with sessions on lesson plan development, peer review, and reflective practices, enabling participants to refine their instructional strategies and enhance their confidence in implementing these new approaches.
The workshop’s success was evident as participants left with renewed enthusiasm, ready to cascade their knowledge and contribute to a culture of innovation in STEM education across Maharashtra.
